OneUnited Bank Is Using Technology To Teach Financial Literacy

OneUnited Bank is a Black owned bank that operates primarily online.  The bank is well known for promoting the concept of African Americans banking and shopping with Black owned establishments. 

The bank has a new initiative called 'BankBlack X' that seeks to educate the Black community using a new online training portal.

BankBlack X has 3 main components.

1. A free Online Financial Education Center
2. A new BankBlack Card
3. BankBlack Early Pay - (Where card holders can get paid 2 days early.)

OneUnited Bank is supported strongly by rapper/activist, Killer Mike, and other celebrity endorsers.

Teri Williams, President & COO of OneUnited stated, "We have many weapons to affect change, starting with the truth. The reality is that almost everything we have been taught about Black Americans and money has been wrong. We have been bamboozled and led astray…for 400 years. We need to share the truth to make financial literacy a core value of our community!"

We visited the free online training portal and it seems to be easy to use and very informative.  This may be a great tool in order to spread financial literacy in our community.
