Those are very wise words from our late musical hero, Bob Marley. I too would like to see a world where we all would learn to appreciate our differences instead of use those differences to separate ourselves from one another.
Racial harmony is very important for us to survive as a human race. We have common challenges and problems that can be defeated if we would learn to work together as a human family.
When looking at the statistics given by groups like the Urban League, it's clear that African Americans still have a lot of inequalities that need to be corrected. The challenge to correct those inequalities are with us, not anyone else. We must learn to help each other in: business, finance, housing, employment, and other areas. No one else is going to ride in and help us achieve. That's why there is a BlackBusinessList.Com. We must learn how to find each other, connect, and engage.
We can love ourselves and help ourselves without having hate or rancor for anyone else.
The desire we have to pull ourselves up has nothing to do with exclusion or racism. It's about getting our own house in order. Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? Leave a comment and let me know.
